Picking up my first Fabia VRS tonight! Help needed!

Featured Replies

New to the forum, and i should be purchasing my first fabia vrs tonight. Have sold a Saab 9-3 hot aero, so apart from the savings ill expect, i hope it will still put a smile on my face when driving.

Ive had a look round the forum, but wonder if someone would be so kind as to put a link to the following

Im looking for details/link for a front strut brace (nice clean looking one). One that fits off the shelf and will bolt straight in. Im probably going to go for a jabbasport rear anti roll bar, pd160 intake and a green panel filter aswell...

Your help would be appreciated as i cant find where to by a front strut brace from?

Thanks

Dan

Rear ARB good idea. PD160, Front Strut Brace complete waste of time and money. Strut brace fouls the air box, so has to be taken off every time air filter is replaced. The top suspension bolts are one use only, so need replacing each time they are undone.

Rear ARB is it then. Is it the jabbasport on you guys on here use?

Jabbasport is the most common one used ( and it's quality stuff) some folks have used the Whiteline one.

When you fit the rear ARB, tighten the clamps before fitting the bar to shape them to the axle arms, then remove them and fit the bar. Makes fitting the clips easier in the end. Enjoy the car, great little motors with loads of mid range torque.

I would forget the Green filter and go for something else. Green filters need oiling and this is not a good idea on MAF equipped cars.

I wouldn't say PD160 and front strut brace are a complete waste of money for all people. It depends what you want...

If you are planning to remap your car (and lets face it - its got to be done! ;) ) then a PD160 intake will help your car breath easier and might even help you gain a few bhp. As for the front strut brace that has a very positive effect of tightening up the front end turn in and in conjunction with other handling mods makes the cars handle/drive better.

P.S Thanks for your reply to my part question Moggy :) - thinking I might go for some Apex shocks to match my springs as they aren't much more then standard shocks :D

my TDI Ibiza has a PD160 intake (and Green filter) and it made over 190bhp at ToTD

Nice one! :) getting on for 300 ft lbs of torque to I suppose? :)

I'm sure how much mine is putting out as I didn't remap it but it pulls like a train :) <3

I've got a front strut brace, and a Jabba RARB and they both make a difference, the RARB more so. You can get and alloy strutbrace from forge who are one of the sponsors on here. The one i have is from a Seat ibiza cupra (most peopl go for these. If you ho to a Seat dealer it's Part number 6L0071710.

The only thing to watch out with the RARB is that if you push it hard the back end steps out and gives you oversteer, although it's very gradual and fun when you get used to it i shat mysethe first time i spun the furby on a roundabout!!!:rofl:

As for the air filter a performance on is a good idea, i went for a pipercross one, and they are fine to oil as long as you don't leave the filter dripping. I've had mine on for 30000 miles and the MAF is fine!!
