Diesel Power sport 4

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm thinking of getting a bottle of fuel additive such as this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Millers-Diesel-Power-Sport-4-500ml_W0QQitemZ270371918259QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ef36c11b3 to put in my vRS as it has done quite a few miles (130k) and I thought the injectors etc could maybe use a clean (?)

I was just wondering if anyone knew weather it was unsafe to use in the PD130 engines for any reason? Anyone had and good/bad experiences with fuel additives?

Some interesting info : http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2074321

Looks like those tests were done on "VW 1.9TDI" so I guess it is safe :D

I'll let you know the results! ;)

Wont do any harm as an injector cleaner, but the Forte stuff is much better.

Sign yourself up for the Group Buy on Millers EcoMax (DSP 4 in a new bottle). Link to it in my signature

FWIW, I use Millers because I fill up at the supermarket, so the diesel doesn't have the cleaning additives that 'branded' diesels have. Works out a little cheaper that way, but if it wasn't for the loyalty points, I'd probably get branded fuel and not bother with the Millers...

Ordered a bottle of this: http://www.forteuk.co.uk/product.php yesterday so might give the group buy a miss this time...

Probably wont bother with any other fuel additives for a while (5,000 miles maybe) as I run this car only on V-power Diesel

But thanks for the heads up.

Fair enough :)

I haven't had this car long so don't know what its been run on but I plan on "giving it the best" from now on :)

New front shocks and oil change in the pipe-line

I had my Fabia VRS in my local indie garage for its service and MOT and they recommended Forte which I included in the service. They have all the VAG kit and service all their Skoda taxis and use it so it can't be bad!

Forte went in today with just over 1/2 a tank of diesel... bottle says "UP TO 100 liters" so hope it will be ok at the concentration I have used it at.

I can't imagine it would do any harm  ... could it? :o :S

I;d personally only use Morris lubricants morendo cleaner. It is approved for use in PD engines. Excellent concentration ratio as 125ml does a full tank. I'm still using the same bottle i bought 12 months ago direct from morris.

I've been using it for the last year with no issues.

I've been using millers sport 4 in both our vRS's for a few years now..... The few times i've run out and had to have a couple of tanks of untreated fuel in i've noticed a slight difference in performance and roughness of running.

I have a dragon box fitted and get between 500-550 miles per tank using millers sport 4.

Also isn't the '4' in millers sport 4 to do with the euro 4 emissions standard that the PD130 engine is specced to???

Cheers

Dave.
