Hi everybody,my names John and I live in sunny South Devon.I used to run Skodas as my everyday car from '87 -'2000,9 new cars from Estelle through Favorit and finally Felicia. My last one, bought new in August 1997 was sold in 2000 as I needed a larger car so I moved to Rover and for the last 4 years a Nissan Primera(R reg also).

Now,I am looking for a replacement for the Nissan and still Skodas mean a lot to me and I am considering a late model Felicia or possibly a early Fabia 1.4.I have just seen on Autotrader a Felicia 1.6 GLXi,2000 on a "W" for 795.00 in dark metalic Blue.I know these had the VW engine fitted,my early cars were all Skodas' 1.3 engine,so how do they compare?I want the 1.6 and the higer spec too of the the 1.6s' is more appealing.

I notice rust seems to attack the bodywork quite badly on some Felicias too these days, which is not good.Is it just a case of the newer the car the better it's made?As the Skodas I owned in the past were all new, this was never an issue as I bought a new one every year or so then.

I look forward to any answers posted and,who knows,I may end up with Skoda number 10 before long :)
