New member, old car...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just thought I'd pop my head round the door and say hello after buying an Octi vRS yesterday.

I've actually been lurking on here for a couple of days doing a bit of research before buying the car and found the buying guide a great help - thanks for that!

Now to the new purchase... My wife is now expecting our 2nd child and the Mk4 Golf we currently have just doesn't have the boot space to cope with 2 kids worth of stuff so,after my wife and i swearing we wouldn't buy a car off eBay i was having a rummage round on there just getting an idea of price and spotted a red '52 reg vRS quite local to me. No bids yet and no reserve. A call was made, we viewed the car yesterday and bought it! Yes its a lot higher mileage than I would normally go for (139k!!!), and yes its in need of a bit of 'love' but it was cheap and once we've sold the wifes car we should have enough money left to sort it out.

The car is proudly sporting a briskoda.net decal on the nsf bonnet corner so I thought I'd join up and see if you recognise the car? Reg is CV52MZY. I believe the previous owners name was Alex?

Its currently wearing grey standard alloys, a re-map, Forge dv valve, K&N panel filter and stainless zorst.

It does need: new discs (has EBC GreenStuff pads already), osf wing repairing (dented), drivers inner door handle reconnecting (hoping its just the cable...)

Things I'm also on the look-out for if anyone can help? - New (SH) drivers door card (appears to have been attacked by the seatbelt..), new interior light (broken and glued) and a new (SH) inner boot/rear panel trim (piece broken off)

Thinks thats about it from me, chat soon folks,

Col.
