Juddering at 1500 rpm after fitting power flex & console bushes

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1 - 1.4 TDI.

After fitting Cupra front console and Power Flex bushes the car will not pull below 1800 rpm in 4th or 5th gear without juddering from the transmission, prior to fitting, the engine would pull sweetly from 1500 rpm.

I have replaced the suspected Dog Bone, but it's no better, I have also examined both the Gearbox and Engine mounts but cannot see any problems there.

I am really thinking of replacing the Power Flex bushes and fitting new Skoda ones.

Has anybody else had similar problems.

Any help greatly appreciated.

whether it was ok before fitting all those bushes or not, you really shouldn't be trying to labour the engine at those sorts of low revs, especially in 4th/5th gear

mine doesnt judder as such, but i did get a similar feeling when i had cupra bushes fitted, if they ever wear out i might go back to standard ones, though now they have been on a few months i dont even notice it, its just a little more feedback through the wheel and tbh that could be a good thing as if you adjust your driving to suit you wont be labouring the car as much as you might have been before, as before you couldnt feel it

See thats what happens when you tinker around with things like this...it never feels quite the same again. And there is too much stuff that could go wrong when u fit it too. Unfortunately I've had this happen to me before but on a different car. I changed the suspension parts about 4 or 5 times(weitec, koni,kw,apex kits) because it just doesnt didnt feel right.
