door sills getting scratched

Featured Replies

My yeti has its painted metal exposed just where the kids step in and out, seems to me we need a strip of some kind in each doorway. My old golf had a black, rough sort of sticker there.

I would ideally like something that clings without adhesive like the invisible guards you put on mobile phone screens, so does anyone know of a generic cut to size product, or failing that do they do something for the yeti/ skodas in general? (Not interested in paying for expensive metal strips..)

When I was getting some knee wear marks on the tank of my motorcycle I bought a sheet of A4 clear film from the local picture framing/stationers/artists supplies shop, cut it to the shape I wanted and put it on. It is still there 5 years later.

Motorcycle shops sell stick on sheets of fake carbon fibre. They would work as well as looking good.

Then there are these people (6 plates -presumably two for each front door???)

Yay! that's what I had in mind! thank you for finding it, I hunted about but just didn't see that..

Thank you for all your replies, really helpful and I'll look into the metal ones too..

I used a near invisible 3M vinyl which was purchased off eBay.. Easy to apply with a little soapy water.

This is pic of it on the sill of a Mk5 Golf.

Remember when cutting anything like this round the corners. A right angled corner will eventually lift.

I use fablon to protect vulnerable areas of my carbon road bicycle, excellent and cheap if you buy the unbranded stuff from the likes of B&Q.

I've found some stainless steel plates on ebay for 60 quid which stick in the door sills to protect them. Got sticky tape on the back so you dont need to drill anything.

My Scout came with something similar when I purchased it - so wanted the same on my new Yeti.
