Fabia 2001, cambelt change in Nottingham

Featured Replies

Hiy,

I've got a Fabia 2001 1.9TDI PD and I need to change the cambelt . Last time it was done at 60k, now its nearly 90k so it's got to be changed. would you recommend any garages in long eaton, nottingham or derby that could do that for a reasonable price?

What is the average price for cambelt and waterpump change?

Thanks,

Simon

I thought cambelt change was at 60k or 4 year intervals.

Greg123, a member on here runs Small Engine - see his website www.small-engine.co.uk. He is based in Nottingham off Bells Lane, not far from J26 M1 off A610.

Greg is a great bloke - knows his stuff, is very helpful and definately won't rip you off!! He has done various pieces of work on both my Octavia and the wife's Fabia, both TDI's. Highly recommended!!

Anyway your cambelt should not need changing until 120k so you have another 30k to do yet!!

All the best

Dan

As above, if you are going by mileage then it is not ready to be changed yet. However I guess it may be ready due to age?

I can recommend AV Performance in Burton-on-Trent, speak to Ben on 01283 548483 and tell him Ben sent you (yes, two Bens!).

cheers guys

the belt was changed in 2007, so it should last for 1, 2 years
