VRS Remapping / Chipping

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been considering getting my (56) VRS remapped for a little while now but I recall reading a while back (on this forum) that this can cause some hoses to blow off - I think it was the intercooler hoses but I can't find the post now, and I recall the solution was to cable tie round the ends and link them together with another cable tie (if I understood the solution correctly).

Has anyone come up with a more elegant solution than this ?

and

Can anyone who has had their skoda remapped give their thoughts on the results. I'm looking for increased fuel economy more than performance (although i'm hopping that will be a happy side effect :p )

Cable tie still the only solution unless you spend silly money on custom pipe work and silicon hoses. The standard fitting will not accept standard hoses, due to their design to take the large c clips. As for the mapping, better fuel economy is possible if you go for a mild map. Aggressive mapping can be expensive, insurance, clutch, flywheel, dead sheep, inverted view of fields etc
