Castle Combe 24/04/10 IMPORTANT INFO!

Well, going on the image in the first post, we are pretty much where the lower of the two red arrows is pointing, where the track kind of widens out - and on the left side as you look at it (I did the stand images in MS Paint using different angle with track going across the top)

The stand isn't in the best place to get Camp Corner action - It is more halfway down the straight between the hairpin and Camp, so people will need to have a short walk down to the raised area overlooking Camp, or up to the hairpin. I think you can get all the way around the track though

PS: IT WOULD BE GOOD IF PEOPLE CAN BRING AS MUCH GAZEBO TYPE STUFF AS POSSIBLE. I WILL HAVE ONE!

looking at the coombe site i found this?

do we use a difference entrance to park in camp corner?

we are way out on our own if i can remember rite

if anyone walked around the whole track last time? :smirk:

are we being sat on the grass area after the banked viewing area of camp corner?

i may be wrong but if anyone wants a peek at the link to see :wonder:

We are going there, and it suggests Camp entrance is the way in. My package of stuff from Combe doesn't say this but will confirm in advance. I thought on the day everyone went through the main entrance to be honest, and anyone on stand in camp corner had to make their way through the paddock to get there. :)

ooo lol  so its the next entrance after the main way in we pop down then is it?

surely this doesnt mean i had a usefull input does it lol :D

Have emailed Combe to check, and I will confirm. Have a feeling that entrance "might" only be used for other events. I have a vague memory when coming from the Brizzle direction, not Chippenham that there is a sign on that bend/junction telling you to use the Chippenham Road entrance only.

i always end up coming up from the chippenham way,

theres a nice lil drive up thru warmly etcfrom longwell green that way

then turn left into castle come.

i;ll keep my eye out for you to get back mate

i wil try and avoid getting my lil gathering lost or in the wrong place :giggle:

PS: I have decided, room permitting, the following cars to be on the front to be the "brunt" of the stand

Des's Red Devil (PM'd to confirm this is the car he is bringing....)

Lloyds octy

Steevie's turbo nuttah Octy (nominated for Briskoda's "car of show" entry)

the Fabia vRS estate

the two SE Fabias coming (Chris and Simon)

and my car....

I will see how the morning goes, but am not too fussed so won't be making a flap over anything at all.

There are some other obvious groups I would like to try and keep together. The obvious one is the 2 roomsters, but it would be good if regardless of colour, you could park next to a model of Skoda the same as your own. Would be pretty cool to have a row of Octy 1s and row of Octy 2s, a row of fabias and then whatever else can go wherever. ;)

For the record we have at the moment:

16 FABIAS

15 OCTY 1

7 OCTY 2

2 ROOMIES

4 MISC (200sx, Golf 5, Leon Cupra & Alfa)

and I believe there is an 8th Octy 2 paying on the day.

ha ha jay must have yours at the front on its stilts lol :rofl:

p.s i doubt the 200sx will be on the stand as it wont be able to park on the grass round there he is to low lol

p.s considering you have a huge turn out how come they stuck you in one of the worst places ????

Problem with getting in too late. Next time I am going to have to set an earlier deadline - As usual it is a numbers VS deadline issue with lots signing up late on. Next year will have to set a deadline one month before and restrict to 20 or so. Also means no dedicated track session, which I see as most of the attraction of this show, so always disappointing to see the real slow take-up of tracktime. :(

Not bothering with the ramps this year. Cannot be bothered with them to be honest. Keeping them as repairs and maintenance items only now.

the landrover may not be making an apperance as ive had some legal issuse with towing atm so mite have to drive her up on the day il keep u up dated with how im getting there

ps can i hide at the back as shes nt looking her best rite nw
