He lost a Turbo (and about 20mpg :p) and gained 2 cylinders ;)

I know - a lot of trouble to goto for a nicer engine noise :D

I liked the brakes so much I bought the car ;)

Never mind the colour at that price! They could be pink and I'd still buy them :D

Will keep an eye out for you too. I did consider a pair, but thought the jump was a bit too great for a lowly PD140 ;) - so I'll stick to a 312mm upgrade instead.

Steve

Car is due 25th October so I have a bit of time yet. You are right about the price though. Looking at what he supplies you only need to add the lines and maybe a new disc

Straight swap. Had them on my Edition 30 and they make a helluva difference.

One thing to be aware of though is that without a matching R32/S3 rear setup they will be a little snatchy but worth it for the dramatic improvement when required.

Just revisting the brake upgrade idea. Other than being a bit snatchy is there any technical issues fitting these to the vRS? i.e. rear brakes affected, rapid brake wear, etc. Or is it a straight swap? Also does the FL vRS have a brake wear montior?

It is a straight swap. I've had mine now for about 5k miles and no issues

Any pictures mate? It's either them or a set of BBS CK's and I can't have both......

Ignore the J-Hooked discs as they aren't normally like that. I got them done as i wanted the anti-corrosion on them as well (hence the black hub and edges)

Behind 17" OEM alloys

Here is a guide as well on how to do it with pictures.

Now that i have changed my discs and pads myself i would be more than happy at doing the swap myself.

Looks ace mate. Does your brake pad wear indicator still work for these when it gets low?

It would do if it hadn't been disabled for when i had DS2500's installed before i went to this kit.

The Pads have a sensor in them on one side.

If I ever bought anything with such poor brakes again this (or similar) would be my first change.

I would probably only do the fronts again as that is how the Cupra R runs and the snatchiness was easily overcome and only a problem at low speeds.

if anyone is interested there is these on ebay.

Not the seller just looking on ebay

I'm very interested in these now I've looked at the above link. Would these be a straight swap of calipers onto the existing OEM 312mm discs using all existing hoses, fixings etc or would they need to be adapted to a different stud pattern?

By the looks you would just need the supplied adaptor kit. However it would be best to check with the seller.

Poor breaks? My standard setup works really well. Maybe you need some new pads or fluid?

I'm just vain I want them to look better

Oh they will, and they will work better too. The standards are pretty good though, imo of course.

The standard brakes are fine until you start upping power etc.

However as a wise man (Hedge :giggle:) once told me and this convinced me to get the R32 kit.

"It's better to have more brakes than you need than need more brakes than you have!"

And regardless of this, they look fekin awesome.......................

Hello All

I have get an offer here in Greece for a hole set of Audi S5 front brakes including also a set of high pressure hoses in the price of 700euros fitted and painted if i want in any color.

My question if anyone knows the calipers are with one piston or more?

I'm favouring the 312mm Brembo setup at the moment as my company will pay for replacement parts on the car as long as the are OEM therefore meaning I can still use everything other than pads from the OEM setup. I am still awaiting confirmation that all the Skoda OEM brake ancilliries will work okay.

My best guess would be 4 pots on a beast such as an S5.

In which case do you think the Brembo 4 pot 312mm brakes mentioned above would work with all existing Skoda bits or would something have to be upgraded
