The fronts need a new set of R32 brake lines (£30ish from the dealers and more than adequate). The rears are fine on the standard vRS lines. Getting my full set fitted later on today so will let you know how easy/hard it was!

Lovely thenks for the info and just asked the guy to chuck the lines in. Yea let me know how you get on and also what the performance difference is like :)

Full set of R32 fronts and rears now on. Took just over 2 hours. Re-used the standard rear lines but needed the R32 ones on the front. Also, the rear stone guards just needed a little bending to fit, but that was a 2 minute job. Peddle a little soft at the moment and may need re-bleeding, but other than that, all good at the moment. The fronts are massive and look great in their newly powder coated red. Pics will follow when the new Golf 'R' retainers are fitted next week.

Excellent and glad you had them fitted without to much trouble by the look of it. Not changing the rears on mine at the moment. Guy is sending the brake lines down and the dustguards for the front as i forgot to ask for them.

How does £120 delivered for r32 calipers, 345mm discs, pads, dust guards and brake lines? I think i might have paid over the odds for them haha :). Im over the moon tbh

That is a little expensive !!!!

lol :), how the brakes feeling now then?

It hasn't been used since as I cycle to work. Will get a few miles on it this week I think.

Shame they're not 5mm bigger ;) Then they'd look the dog's

You can't fit 16" wheels any more with 345mm, but you can with 312mm breaks right? Cheers.

Anyone got the S3/R32 setup and changed the pads? If so and recommendations or advise on what to stay clear of. Always heard a lot of crap reviews on green stuff pads and DS2500 are always recommended. Any change there?

Does anyone know if the standard 312mm setup will work on the rear of an Octy vRS? I'm also thinking of getting the 345mm upgrade to the front and was looking at moving the existing fronts to the rear. Does that sound feasible?

Nope. No provision for handbrake unless I'm mistaken. :S

was thinking Ian, you should swap your R32 brakes for some 312s before you sell up. You know it makes sense, and they would never realise

Can anyone let me know if I need r32/s3 caliper bolts to fit the upgrade or can the standard octy ones be used? Read they are stretch bolts so should be replaced but wondering which to buy. Cheers

Could someone please point me to the part numbers needed to do this upgrade. Whether it's Cupra/r32/s3.

Thanks.

Aint got the part numbers to hand, but dont need them really as its the 345mm setup that on the Leon Cupra, Golf R32, Audi S3, Audi TTS and Audi A3 3.2 quattro (not painted on these). There are a few others but i know that the complete setup will bolt on with the ones listed above and think you have problems with the discs etc on others eg Audi S4.

Looks like the caliper bolts are N10647602 from having a look online but will need to confirm as dont seem right to me. More likely to be 1N0 647 602 if you ask me.

Your best off buying second hand. I priced up the fronts only using an Audi S3 number plate that I saw and it came in at over £800 + vat. Should be able to get fronts and rears for half that, I know I did and they are great.

contact Dave at Seremotors, pretty sure he can do a front set brand new with all required parts for around £650 (ish)

  • 2 weeks later...

Fitted mine today with R32 clips (which took a little paint off which will have to touch up)and happy with the results. Also fitted Eibach springs while i was at it.

PS The eagle eyed will notice the grub screw is replaced by a standard 10mm (to stop the disc falling off and breaking my toe which almost happened a few minutes before). The reason being that the bright spark that had serviced the car before had stripped the 30 torx grub and so i had to drill the bloody things out! I have ordered new ones today :)
