Hi guys i'm goin to have a right old moan now to you all. My brother in law is the proud owner of his 07plate golf 1.4tsi which he has had remapped. What ever car he has had, nothing is better. He had a polo gti and nothing was better, even though he went through 3 gearboxes and had to have all of the head rebuilt on it and it had only covered 50k lol. He only has VW's and anything else in the VAG stable are sheds (such as seat and skoda) oh yes Audi a3's aren't worth the extra 5k. I have a fabia vrs on a 05 plate to which i have the following mods, forge fmic pd160 intake k+n panel filter decat and straight through exhaust stage 2 custom code jabba rear arb ibiza cupra console bushes powerflex front w/bone bushes. Now i do love the car but it just aint cutting the mustard in the power stakes. This is where you lot come in to the equation. i want to go for a larger turbo, new clutch and what ever else will take me above the 260bhp mark and show my ignoramus of a brother in law whats what and really make him eat his words to which he refers to my car as the SKIP. Or would i be better off just dropping in a 1.8t from a cupra r and having it mapped up to 280bhp. Would it go straight on the existing mounts and would all the loom have to be changed and whatever else. I've got about 4k to throw at it so HEEEllllllPPPP. And let me shut this ass wipe up once and for all

Sausage Roll.. he's got your car! lol!

Sounds like you need a hybrid to get up to the BHP you want. I'm not clued up, but going from the diesel 1.9t to the petrol 1.8t is allot more work than it;s worth. If you really want the 1.8t engine then your better off buying something with it already in.

That said, if you've got the cash get the conversion done, but much better off starting from a 2.0 or 1.4 16v Fabia.

:dull:

why not just take the 4k and buy the whole Leon Cupra R??

however with the Fabia i don't think £4k is gunna be enough to see the kind of power figure you are after.

I know Jabbas full stage 3 kit:

Stage 3 - 245-250BHP + 15-20BHP with optional Boost Cooler® water/methanol kit.

Parts Included:

JabbaSport 8V Diesel Exhaust Manifold

JabbaSport Custom Garret Turbocharger

JabbaSport De-Cat Downpipe

Pro-Alloy Front Mount Intercooler

Larger Air Mass Sensor

JabbaSport Anti-Surge System

Sachs Dual-Mass Performance Clutch Kit *It's Recommended That You Opt For A Single-Mass Setup With A Stage 3 Turbo Kit*

JabbaSport Custom Remap

is around £7k an even if you could obviously take the cost of the Frount Mount you already have out

to deal with that power you're probably going to need to add a LSD to your shopping list which is another grand

The powerful cars i know about on here - Devonutopia's Mongrel (280bhp), Warwick Hunt's car (270bhp), Sausage Roll's ex-Shifty car (251bhp), T-Sparks Ibiza (220bhp) - have be modified with almost a money no object attitude.

It is possible; but not on the cheap!

Just sell the Skoda and add the 4k to buy a nice car with that power as standard.

Is it REALLY that important?

cheers guys got 2 much money in the car 2 sell

Don't forget you'll only beat him in a straight line if you do these mods - round the twisties the MK5 Golf is rather good!

Part ex it for an Octavia vRS CR 170 and remap that :)

Cheers for the comments guys. gonna sell and buy a mk2 octy vrs 2.0tfsi that should cheer him up a bit lol

Sausage Roll.. he's got your car! lol!

You cheeky ba5tard Rob!!!

If he had the Shifty Mobile he wouldn't be needing more power, he'd be needing new underpants! :giggle: He'd also be leaving his bro in law behind choking on the biggest smoke screen you've ever seen

My helpful equation >>> What you've already got + Hybrid + Devils Own + Washbrooke = More power!

unless moneys no object you'd be better off buying sumthin thats got resale value without much loss...

Sounds like your brother in law is a wind up merchant par excellence.

And he's got you wound up good and proper.
