What's the main benefit of having an upper strut brace?

Yes, it stops the chassis flexing by transferring part of the load from one to the other.

Just ordered a full front and rear set of bushes. Should have them early next week

What I'll try and do is just mount the anti-roll bar bushes to see how much it cuts roll, without having to change the actual anti-roll bar. May be a worthwhile mod for those who want less roll, but don't want the expense of changing struts and springs or buying an anti-roll bar kit. I'll let you know how I get on.

Don't forget to take as many pictures as you can get away with. All this tuning and modding is new to me and most of the terms seem to come from out of space... Hopefully I'll be just as able to talk motor techie as I'm able to computer techie soon
