Good days shopping

Well managed to pick up a few parts to make the wifes 1.2 Silverline a little bit more special. Got a brand new vRS front bumper with all grilles and plate plinth, brand new vRS rear bumper, brand new facelift rear lights and oem Skoda black b post trim for a bargain, less than the cost of a new vRS rear bumper :) Just need to collect the parts and get it painted and the modding will begin ;)

good luck, if im right, you may need a special bit of trim to clip the rs bumper on...I think I needed to get one because the standard one wasn't long enough? but i'm sure it'll all be good fun! :D

A vRS lookalike with a 1.2 engine.....all show and no go.....lovely.

Haha indeed! Not my idea of a "nice car" either ;) :p

I normally prefer it the other way around :giggle:

Don't really care if it's all show and no go, it's the wifes car and she's a new driver who doesn't do many miles so the 1.2 is perfect for her, just want it to look a bit nicer. It won't be badged as a vRS so not trying to kid anyone. I have my car if we need power, and when I come to sell mine I plan on getting her a mini and taking her Fabia and doing a 1.8T conversion.

How is it not a "nice car" either? It's the exact same as a vRS with a smaller petrol engine. I'm sure if the 130 TDi was available in the same trim as a lesser model you would still pick the vRS because of it's styling.

Fair enough, maybe I was a little off on the "nice car" bit. What I meant to say is its just not the way I would go about things - but then again its not my car ;) if you want to make it look like a de-badged vRS thats up to you.

I personally would put my money towards a nice suspension setup for when you get the 1.8T engine in it!

But at least you have the styling sorted for when you do :);)

Not meaning to nitpick but the vRS is not exactly the same, as it as has a 6 speed gearbox, different shocks, a thicker front anti roll bar and larger brakes.

My wife just passed her test this morning and I have got her a Corsa B as her first car.

I will also be looking for bits to tidy it up.

The all show and no go bit I understand but I would relate that more to young drivers who think that bumpers etc adds bhp

I think Fabia's are nice little cars and a little bit of styling doesn't hurt plus it sounds like you got it for a price you couldn't refuse

Skoda black b post trim for a bargain

Where did you get this from? I have been looking for ages. Not available through Skoda any more...

3rd or 4th item down buddy. Its for an estate but I reckon the b pillar trim

would be the same. At £14.98 for an 8 piece set you can just do the middles. :)

To Big A

Do you need a tailpipe sir?? :p To go with your nice new vrs bumper?? :)

Maybe we could do a deal.... ;)

Congratulations to your wife :) Nothing wrong with getting bits to make it look a bit nicer, just so long as it's not raiding Halfords bargain bucket for bits ;)

Yeah got everything for a fantastic price that I am well happy about :)

Managed to find a brand new set on eBay mate. Paid pretty much what they cost from dealer, but because they're discontinued now wasn't too fussed paying a little bit more than you'd expect to on eBay.

I think the estate kit will fit too if you just use the middle bits. It's only £1 dearer than the hatch kit when it was available.

Mmmmmm yes and no Garry, can get an oem Skoda vRS style tip pretty cheap, but what you got I might be interested ;)

New driver! and deeper spoiler! I can hear crunching sounds on high kerbs. :heartbreak:

She should be ok, she's seen me often enough near high kerbs with my Anni valance on my lowered Bora so knows better ;) Thats why I'm not putting a Cupra splitter on it just yet to see how she gets on too :)

Nothing wrong with putting a vRS front on a non vRS, aslong as you dont put the badges on, and i'd yeah i'd leave the splitter for a while yet.

Thanks for the suggestions re the estate kit above I shall try that and report back...

No worries dxg.

Also managed to get a genuine vRS rear roof spoiler for a steal through the week, so now have everything I need to do the exterior :)
