Intimittent wipe gone!

Featured Replies

Since yesterday I have had no intimittent wipe! Anyone else had this on their fab vrs???

Does the fab have the adjustable setting like the Octy?? (little rotary switch on the top edge of the stalk)

Didn't I see somewhere on here that this can be caused by the bonnet not being completely shut? I gather there is a switch that prevents the intermitent wipers working if it isn't shut properly?

place your bets now.........

linkage and/or motor on way out...........

that's how mine went about two weeks before the whole thing packed up.....

AAAGGHHH!

Bonnet was opened yesterday to check the oil etc . . . So I will check to see if it was closed properly!

If the motor/linkage has gone then I take it that will be a warranty job as my car is only 4 months old!

Well !!!!!!

Come on then was it the bonnet ????????

No need to. It's one of those little gotchas which others will learn from and remember.

Dont worry mate, the only reason i mentioned it was because I was stuck on an Ibiza (same as the Fabia) when i worked at SEAT and I couldnt figure out why on earth the int wipers wouldnt work but they did on all other speeds. Stripped out most of the linkage and motor etc before someone at technical told me that when you have the bonnet open it cuts int wipers so they dont hit the bonnet.

Checked and sure enough the switch had fallen out, quite common as they are only held on with a few plastic lugs which can break off.

Still you live and you learn, and well done to TaviaJon for remembering the other post, top job fella!

Dont be this happened to me last week but I posted it on the Fabia board!! Thanks to ross for letting me know all about it!

I done the same as you check the all the levels and shut the bonnet but it's didn't catch fully!

Yay! See, I *do* read the Fabia threads :D
