Fitting a sub and amp!

Featured Replies

Removing anything between 300-500ish Hz and your removing some of the key fundamentals to the music, particularly percussion and strings that give the human brain the recognisability factor of that instruments. Just my opinion but cutting between 80-130 removes boom awhilst boosting lower down say 50-70Hz starts to bring in power. I don't have a sub in my car nor do I want one (treasure the boot too much) but I know a few people who've dropped them in and I'd agree with 10-12" is far far adequate enough

Yeah I agree, in alot of RnB though the use of 100-500hz is resonance or high tone bass, it doesn't change (unlike a string/percussion instrument) just a 'hum'.. which my ears do not agree with. I think I saw a documentary once that some countries use the frequency around these areas for torture  as it resonates with the liquids or something in your body.

Back in the days there were number of "tune your bass" CD's which came free with Max Power or whatever, chav-tasic as it may sound, but they were actually v useful (im sure now you can obtain it v easily online)..

The sub is in sounds sweet with the alpine co axils and pioneer rear speakers giving that perfect mix of bass and trebble and mid!

However 2 questions how easy is it to replace the tweaters in the rear doors and by the door mirrors and 2

HOW ON EARTH do i get the side panels up to hide the wires i cant see any screws!! Pics would be nice to explain it! B):giggle:

You have to pull them out using a lot of force... you could have used a coat hanger to push the wires through the nearside sill trim instead of lifting carpet/seats?

There is a really good guide somewhere here...

Not the best pic i know but it'll do. The red square is the power cable and the green square is where the power cable goes through the rubber grommet. There is another grommet directly behind this, in the scuttle panel, that allows the cable to be routed through the cabin.

The fabia was actually one of the easiest cars i've found to route the cables.

well my cable is located somewhere different very easy though, it comes up underneath the box of tricks at the back of the bonnet!
