Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

You running them at the front, Wardth? Agree with all that you said although I have about 8k on mine too and don't think I will get 10k out of them. The diesels and 4WDs mentioned above will of course fair a lot better with any rubber.

That's a bold statement, and one that I would doubt the accuracy of...

The 4WD I can kind of cope with, but I'm intrigued as to why a diesel vRS which has more weight over the front wheels and more torque than the petrol vRS should be better on it's tyres...

rags - as you live in Brum, try Longbridge Tyres, just up the road from me. They are a Vrede agent, so do great deals on sessanta's - the 225/40/18's for the front of my beemer were just £78 fitted.

Definitely worth a call on Tuesday then :)

Cheers

Camskill had them back in stock so I've ordered a couple of the Sessantas and will get them fitted after they turn up... Fingers crossed I've made the right choice here :)

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza's at the moment..................good tyres but wear quick and not cheap.

Really?

I've got them on my vRS which I've had since last summer.

I find that they're fine in the dry, but bad in the wet and frankly awful in the cold.

For me, they're not wearing quick enough! I want them to go down to justify the expenditure on the Vred ! :D

Jumping on the back of this thread I am also at the point of almost replacing all 4 of my tyres on a vRS estate. I'd be interested if anyone has any wear reports for the Ultrac Cento's which are also available in 225 x 40 x 18 (92Y) for the same cost as Sessanta's (at Camskill). Hoping that they would be a good compromise for out-and-out performance with better wear characteristics ?? Any thoughts......

Have to admit I thought about getting those after looking on the website and seeing the claim about how quiet they are, but not really found any decent reviews on them...

I'm sure they're good tyres otherwise they wouldn't be pushing them as premium tyres, but when the manufacturer is making a big thing about them being styled by a designer I start thinking, what does Giugiaro Design actually know about tyres?
