Water in headlamp...

Featured Replies

My Dad has changed a bulb in his Fabia headlight, drivers side, he said it was fiddly but he managed it OK.

Been a couple of weeks since he did it and he's saying there's a lot of water droplets in the headlight now.

Haven't seen it myself but do you think it will dry out? He's sure the back of the unit went back as it should, any advice??

Thanks

The only reason would be if the backing isnt on properly and to be honest it will prob just keep condensating up as it never dries fully.

you can never dry it up fully however an old trick i did on my old car was if you can remove the headlight put a few sachets of silica gel in there and it soaks most of it up, however sounds like the backing isnt quite on properly

I dont even have the backings on my lights since fitting HID's and in over a year I've never had any issues with water at all. Did have a couple of small flies dead in there however removed them when spraying my headlight inserts!

no water at all you must have some kind of shield haha

What model is it thats having the problem? The VRS' engine bay is pretty well sealed in general tbh.

It's a vRS, going to look at it tomorrow afternoon, might take it off and re-fit it, he said it was a

right barstard though.

Thanks for the replies :)
