I hate bl***y cars

Featured Replies

after farting about with Power steering angle sensor on the wifes Fabia I had a few days respite that was until today driving home I lost all power steering Bloomin heck that SDI is heavy. Stopped in a lay by popped the bonnet to have a quick looksie obviosly nothing to see :wonder: , started engine and it was back to semi normal but with the power steering light illuminated how I have not missed that over the last few days and the steering going heavy when moving wheel quickly when trying to park and avoiding the old farts that insist on getting as close as they can when they pass.

The question is whats up with it now?

Its had a brand spanking new Angle sensor

Power steering pump, wiring or something else totally?

Any input or what to look for would be gratefully accepted.

And yes I have ripped out the battery air filter n housing just to check the power steering fliud, it was a tad low so topped it up a touch to what I presume is the right level as there appears to be a dipstick on the bottom of the cap :smirk:

Please dont say go to dealers to get car scanned cause I did that already and they told me thesame fault code that I told them when i used my cheapo ebay lead :'(

ok been out with old knackerd laptop and el cheapo cable and scanned the Fab, got the usual 00816 Angle sensor (g250) faulty could it be a faulty new sensor?

but also went for a drive and while waiting at lights waggling wheels about I hit Print screen and this is what I got????

Does it mean anything to anyone or just a total waste of time??

Wiring fault or plug not seated correctly?

Inspect the plugs at the PAS end for corrosion. If they are OK fit another steering angle sensor. If the fault comes back it's the pump, and a wad of cash.
