My wheels are apparently made by OZ too - I never realised until I got them and looked in the booklet. I assumed that VW made them somewhere, but it seems OZ were sub-contracted to make them on VW's behalf. Can't complain as they're really nice wheels and I'm dead happy with them. :) :) :)

I was considering upgrading to 18" wheels..... (see below).... Can anyone advise if these are good tyres, or if you recommend this?

Cheers

Terry

4 * Brand New 18" 9 Spoke RS4 Style Replica Alloy Wheels. Fitted with Brand New Avon ZZ1 225/40/18 tyres. Will suit Audi/VW/Seat as we have all fitments. Contact me with vehicle details if you are not sure if they will fit, emails answered promptly. Price includes bolts and (Audi or VW or Seat) caps.

Sounds good, but also expensive. I expect four wheels & tyres like that won't leave much change from a grand? They'll definitely fit the Skoda though - I had a similar "will they, won't they?" problem when I got mine. I also didn't know the RS4 came with 9 spoke wheels - I assumed it would come with the six spoke TT alloys.

You'll probably find, like I did, you'll need to order four Skoda branded centres for the wheels. I came very close to having my wheels fitted with damned VW inserts.

As for the tyres, I'll leave it someone else who knows the brand to say what it's like. But, anything 225 wide is going to as grippy as hell - Mine sticks to the road like rails just on 205s (it is a Fabia though)

The cost is

I stand corrected on the number of spokes thing. Check out the attached piccie - I assume these are the wheels in question. :D

edit: perhaps some photoshop techie can take the wheels off this pic and stick em on a vRS? :)

Oh no! The tyre debate!! Just like the colour debate but a bit more serious.:D

Experienced Avon tyres a long time ago; they were cheap.

Standard Dunlops, IMHO, too noisy and don't inspire confidence. Got a pair of 225/45/17 Pirelii PZero Rossos on the but really need a pair on the front to determine the difference.

For reference these were

I believe you can also get the RS4 a likes in 19" if you want to be a real hero...

I was thinking of these wheels but I will need spacers as they are a 45mm offset..

Now thats a serious wheel..... will it fit without causing problems?

Looks a bit pricey for me also.....

Oooh - I'd like those alloys on my Fabia - I just wouldn't be able to put any rubber around them because they're so HUGE! :)

Edit: I dunno, Terry -

they are 1500 inc 215/35/19 p zero neros...

but they are too high an offset - but 7mm spacers cures that.

can get in std silver or dark silver as well.

How about these @

Very Very Sexy.....

If I had that sort of money, I would upgrade the engine first!

Maybe 400bhp with those tyres would be cool.

Like these one to; around

I feel the word "RIPOFF" springs to mind, although they are very niiiiiiice! But as Terry says,

Apparently I can buy the above wheels (RS4 18") with Goodyear Eagle F1 225/40/18 tyres are these tyres better? (same price

Nah, I have 2 sets of wheels already :p

Buying 8 more would be an extravagence I can well do without :(

I'm spending a fair bit over the next few weeks anyway:

All new suspension bushes

All new suspension

Remapping part 1

Front mount intercooler

Remapping part 2

Those are all booked and ready to be sorted.

I then have the joys of new turbo, manifold, exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, roll cage, brakes........

Once that lot is done I'll be:

Broke

Grinning from ear to ear

Wondering why my insurance premium has gone up

Ready to sell it or race it

:D

Dev/Terry,

I agree with you both; I suppose getting such a wheel and tyre combo is the last thing you would mod.

It's nice to dream though.:D

Terry: I think Ian (Tavia4x4) and Jon (TaviaRS) have experiences of the F1 tyres but I would say on reputation the Goodyears are better.

Cheers.

Adrian.

You would have thought that the 4x4 owners would be snapping up 21", 22" or bigger rims just to get the proper "off road" look... :D

RST gunmetals look sweet - bet they're not in a 15" though...

Yours Sir for

I'd take the Goodyears over the Toyos any day of the week :D

Are they GSD3s or the older pattern?

The information I have is:

18" RS4 Goodyear F1 18RS4GEF1 710.64 835.00
