The Monsters on Order!

Featured Replies

emoticon-0106-crying.gif SUK just called, the build date has slipped another month...

You get calls from SUK or your dealer?!

I have phoned SUK today and they still have no build date for my Yeti ordered the 6th of April...

Hopefully our Monster will be at the dealers on Friday, for collection Saturday or Monday. Ordered on 12th April and was expecting build during week 25, but this was brought forward. Its been a long wait, but I've been in regular contact with the dealer popping in on lunchtimes etc (they are positioned between my office and the sandwich shop which is handy!) . I think they're sick of me, but as far as I'm concerned its a big purchase for me and I want to know what's going on.

I hope its as good as I remember it to be - I'll let you all know when it joins the family! :wonder:

we ordered ours april 1st!!!!...and have been told august!!!!..this is getting ridiculous now...

Hi Lee67

Has your dealer given you any reasons for the delay? There doesn't seem to be any pattern with it all and its all very strange. Do you think the delays are down to the dealer or SUK?

Mike

hi mike, dealer about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, skoda uk still havnt rung me back from 4 weeks ago, after telling me our order number didnt exist'...so both suk and dealer as bad as each other, and this is just for a bog standard 1.2 s model!!!...extra's, i should be so lucky...now im told there's a skoda factory shutdown which might extend our wait even further!!!!...as u say there is no build pattern at all, everyone is getting told diff dates...

Besides the higher than expected interest in the Monster the Roomster has recently undergone a facelift which has probably renewed interest in this model (production not due to move out of Kvasiny until next year).

Then of course there's the new Superb load-lugger which is also attracting demand; I would therefore imagine it's a pretty busy factory. Also believe the factories have a summer shut down in July for three weeks which won't help.

tp, do u know when the shutdown is exacttly? as we have been told build 1st week in july( if i can trust the dealer again)

Ordered mine April 13th from a great dealer. Nice company, good salesman too.

Was confirmed build week 22 and emailed on the Tuesday of that week to be advised it had left the factory.

Emailed again when it escaped the boat, and it's to be with the dealer on Friday for its PDI.

Pick up on Tuesday :) cant wait, then it'll be down to the Peaks, up to Orkney and anywhere else I can get an excuse to go!

more reason for me to be mad :dull: ...

Apologies but I don't :( By process of Sherlock Holmes though I would suspect the later part; UK Yeti production started last year in WK32/09 which is the beginning of August. Starting a new RHD production model after a shutdown would appear logical to me :wonder:

yep sounds ligical m8, just hope they get ours done and posted 1st week july lol :D , if not i WILL BE DRIVING A CAR THRU THE DEALERS SHOWROOM :giggle:

Having used my powers of persuasion on the local dealer to borrow a Yeti for an extended test drive (one day and one night) and having been totally bowled over by everything about it we ordered ours on 12th April.

We have been given a build date of week 25 (21st June?) so hope to be having some Yeti adventures some time in July. We have ordered a black Yeti 2.0TDI SE 140 4x4 with off road pack, rough road pack and tyre pressure monitor as well the usual mud flaps, mats etc and of course the fluffy Yeti Monster!! Quite boring extras I know but we live in a very rural area and the roads are in a shocking state. We are slowly wrecking the fabia and mini on the roads so hopefully our monster will stand up much better.

I'm not sure how I'll manage with the wait and come the end of June I'll be like a four year old at Christmas but in the meantime I'll read the print off the brochure and spend hours on youtube watching Yeti videos!

Have really enjoyed reading everyones posts (and seeing their piccies) and am seriously envious of those who have theirs emoticon-0132-envy.gif I can't wait to get ours and head off exploring on the forest tracks round Dumfriesshire. emoticon-0142-happy.gif

I wish you well! Ordered my 1.2 DSG no sunroof on 3rd Feb (Week 5?) and it was allegedly built week 22! but still no sign of it at the dealer! In all that time I had not one single spontaneous contact from the dealer

, and SUK are worse than useless. Recently asked them by email if there was a future possibility of powered mirror folding and it took them 11 days to come up with the following

Thank you for your email dated 3 June 2010 regarding your query about the Yeti.

Please accept my apologies for the delay in response.

The Factory provide the UK market with a limited number of options to make available to Consumers such as yourself.

I am not privy to the decision making process which has led to these not being made available to the UK Market however If we

receive enough enquiries such as yours perhaps this will changed.

But they did say Kind regards at the end, so obviously they care!

They may not care. My line manager always ends his e mails "kind regards"

Yes Franco I know!

No point was missed in the writing of my e mail.

Sorry, you missed my point. I don't think they'd care even if they knew what it means....

That's bad!!! emoticon-0120-doh.gif No desire to rub it in at all but I ordered mine (with sunroof) on 5th Feb and took delivery 4th June... that was bad enough at 17 weeks. emoticon-0124-worried.gif

I have spoken to the dealer today and our monster has arrived, been PDI'd and is now awaiting a dealer fit tow bar and valet - the soonest they can fit it is tuesday afternoon! Frustrating as it is, we will handover wednesday, so another weekend of waiting. Its the longest I've had to wait for a car ever, and the wait has only been bearable thus far by being able to read all the posts and pics here and viewing youtube vids of the yeti!

I'll post some piccies on wednesday evening.

Mike

Finally had mine delivered today. Ordered at the beginning of February, so 19 weeks.

2.0TDI 110 SE, Pacific Blue, Onyx/Blue interior, Sunroof, front parking sensors & Light Assistant.

So if you see one around West Bromwich, Worcester, Pickering or Falkirk it could be me :)

Will keep an eye out as I'm occasionally round Pickering :)

Be nice to see some pic's if possible as I considered this exterior / interior scheme for my reorder but int the end stuck with the Corrida. However I've just put in an order for a Fabia II FL in Pacific but unfortunatly you cannot get a matching blue interior, it's either black with onyx/onyx (which we have opted for) or a very light beige cloth

I'll look out for you. I work in West Bromwich at a construction company called Anglo Holt just off the M5 junction on the Birmingham Road. You would see mine parked up in the car park right at the front. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

And another just (finally!) ordered today in a - probably futile - attempt to preempt the likely VAT increase (did manage to get the dealer to share part of the risk on the VAT though).

Will be a Steel Grey CR170 with Columbus / Park Assist / Spare Wheel / Rough Road / TPM.

Finally agreed on a 9% discount, so I'm effectively paying a premium of around 2.5% (plus some VAT insurance/mitigation that hopefully won't be needed one way or another) vs the best online deals I've seen. But the benefit is that it's a dealer literally just a mile or so down the road so very convenient, especially if there are any glitches with the new car, and the payment terms were clean and straightforward (deposit on CC, balance on day of pickup by Switch).

Nominal delivery is Sept, but we'll see.

Incidentally, his take on the sunroof was that there's only one can opener at the factory and it's having to be repaired - the problem he'd heard was not supply of sunroofs, but supply of body-shells with the right sort of hole in the roof!

Good choice - and good luck with the delivery. Now you have to think of which winter wheels you will get :giggle:

For what it is worth, I am very happy with mine. I wouldn't dream of having 17/50 on in winter.

  • 1 month later...

Finally a date! Ordered mine with panoramic sun roof 1st March, told today that its birthday will be 21st June - so we should see it around 1st July (fingers crossed)

Hand over from dealer expected 7th August - so will be just over 5 months from initial order

Can't you wait the three extra weeks to get a 60 reg car? Mighty peculiar to take delivery just three weeks before a plate change!
