problem with bluetooth or MFD

Featured Replies

The MFD on my elegance started playing up today. The mfd reads "initialising phone, please wait" and stays on this for around 10mins, during which I cannot get anything else up. The phone cannot connect, and there is nothing showing on the columbus - no phone connected.

The MFD will then return to the menu for a brief moment and then back to the initialising phone message. I've tried it with my phone off, but still get the same message in the mfd

Been like this all day now! cannot use phone handsfree.

Is there a way to reset the bluetooth unit, or is it another trip to the dealers?

Thanks

This happened to me a few weeks back and I blamed my phone. I switched off my phone, re-started it, and bingo!!

Never happened since.

I agree, the problem is the phone and not the car. Seen it once or twice with my HTC and quick restart of the phone fixed it.

I did try switching my phone off a few times, i'll try again now that it's not been in the car for a while.

Pull the fuse for a few seconds? Might reset it.

Just a thought...

thanks for that simbo - where is the fuse located?

On some phones, turning them off and on again may not be enough to reset them - also try removing/replacing the battery and removing/replacing the SIM. Good luck.

Dunno... handbook or card inside the fuse board? Top right of the engine bay, fuse 15 is the radio on mine (IIRC) & I think it's fuse 7 in the one at the end of the dash. On a Superb, ain't the foggiest....

Might not even work anyway... it's something I would try though. I'm far from an expert on these things you understand! :D:thumbup:

I'll try SeanC's suggestion, replacing disconnecting battery and sim card.

If it does not work then a visit to the dealers tomorrow

Thanks

I have Skoda Superb 2015 which is stuck in PHONE INITIALISING mode, I'd took out the battery and sim plus restarted the phone with no luck. Any suggestions people? TIA
