Remap Insurance, has anyone told them

Featured Replies

Has anyone had any problems with re mapping new vRS's? I have heard on the grapevine that some new VAG cars have "anti tune" or something on the ECU. I'm picking my new petrol vRS up at the end of next week and I want to get it mapped up pretty much straight away emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Thanks

No problems at all emoticon-0148-yes.gif

erm, sorry again that'd be 255 break :giggle:

I even know one insurance company that refused to pay out because the claimant had changed the colour of their car carpet :o

i was going to say that's hardly material non-disclosure, but then hey, it is carpet :giggle:

I can't think of any insurance that says you can't do track days, just that you're not insured when you do.

My neighbour works for a large brokers and he says he can name you several companies!

We all know they usually mention something about not covered for "racing", but the fine print details what this actualy is. He says they often then give a little more detail about this including any "timed activity or activity against the clock with or with out others, on closed roads or circuts or organised events" or something of that type. He said in most instances like this this, it's not that you are just not covered for the event, it's that you've "invalidated the contract of insurance", ie you might not have any insurance at all!

Begs a question, would I risk taking my car on a track day where you could loose the lot, and not spend £80 to cover that specific risk? Errr... No!

Going back to the OP. Look at it this way. How would you feel if you were run over and paralysed by an uninsured driver or maybe he hits your wife/girlfriend/son/daughter etc.

Good call my friend.
