WTF...DB9 Police car?

Featured Replies

Today around the M6/M5 junctions. It had pulled over an X5. Surely I am mistaken? Any local Traffic Bobbies here that can confirm?

are you sure it wasn't a jaguar XF as one of the police areas has one

Laguna Coupe :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I sincerely hope you were mistaken.

Far too much of the tax payers money already being wasted on totally uneccessary over the top expenditure in far too many public service sectors already.

A DB9 could NEVER be justified as a patrol car.

It's James Bond, since he's not got a film to do at the moment he's moonlighting as a traffic cop :)

Maybe Aston gave it to them, or it's a new mondeo, or it's a Jag etc etc.

If indeed it was a DB9 then it is probably a proceeds of crime car that has been given to the force rather than crush it.

Lets face it who in their right mind is going to Crush a DB9.

Also it is not unusual for police to have Exotic Cars. There have been instances where certain police forces in the UK have had a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 as a pursuit car.

But as i said the DB9 will more than likely be a Seized Vehicle under the proceeds of crime act.

Wiltshire police appear to have a Lamborghini hidden away somewhere

Was it marked or unmarked?

Spotted a marked XF on the A419 a few days ago - so presumably Gloucestershire Police

Would have thought a JAG not fast enough on acceleration like a EVO or SCUBY to catch up??

A de-regulated one with a big engine or a 3.0 TDI should be fast enough to pull in most cars.

Anything it can't keep up with has the helicopters.

Agree with comments above. It was probably a Jag XF. They have very similar rear lights to a DB9. They come heavily subsidised from Jaguar as do all police spec PAG vehicles. e.g. Range Rovers & Discos

I was fairly well informed that Skoda gave away the MkI Octy vRS to West Yorks police!

Skoda VRS cars also form part of is it Northamptonshire constabulary?

out of interest i brought my vrs bumper from a copper in kent who informed me they got rid of there marked vrs after it got bottomed out and broke the sump

how true that is im nt sure

shreads

Mk1 vRS are notorious for that used by the forces

On the topic of fancy Police cars, yesterday whilst escaping from Hull on the M62 there was an accident on the opposite carriageway.

I'm sure I saw a marked up Lexus IS-F.

Or was I imagining it?

you didnt. Humberside have one

i prefer the 2nd one as james may designed it for the top gear police car challenge

I'm surprised James couldnt keep up with that BM on the challenge with a V8 under the bonnet? or did these also have a V6?

Yup, that'd be the reason West Yorks got rid. Too many repairs due to speed bump incidents during pursuits etc
