As per the heading. But when I do a swift 1st to 2nd I sometimes crunch it  Anyone else

Nope, but that may relate to that the 1st to 2nd is much better located when you drive from the wrong side of the car emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Particularly if you are naturally right handed.

Reverse is also much easier, as it is close to you, not the furthest away from you.

Had my fair share of crunches and stalls :D Always takes a while to get used to a new car.

Stalled it a few times whe I first picked her up, but crunching the gears has not been a problem. emoticon-0145-shake.gif

Would you say that the crunch is to do with you missing the gear or are you beating the synchromesh? If it is the latter then I would be a little concerned given the age of the car. Mind you, I'd be a little concerned with the former because you will fill your gearbox with swarf.

I'm beating the synchromesh emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I've stalled mine a fair few times, but I put that down to only driving automatic transmissions for the past 5 years... I am having to learn to drive again!

Not crunched it yet though.

Not only did I stall it for the second (ever) time today in the school carpark (next to a group of Mums that I had just been talking to about how easy the Yeti was to drive) but I then accidently caught the windscreen wipers with my rainmac sleeve and couldn't work out if I'd pushed the lever up or back. Ended up with back windscreen wipers going too and to cap it off, in my flustered embarassment, drove off with the back spray squirting. Thank goodness I'm at work late and hubby picking the kids up tonight.
