3 way switch under handbrake ?!?

Featured Replies

I should probably take a photo but not had chance to...

There is a small black 3 way switch located just under my handbrake, I'm assuming this isnt standard, but never been in a Fabia vRS before so dont know for sure. When I switch it to different positions nothing apparent happens.

It's bugging the hell out of me, can anyone think what it might be for?

I did panic at one point that it might be under car neons and I was maybe driving around looking like a chav gangster lol.

Photo please?

Could be anything havent been to Jabba recently have you :giggle:

Nitrous??? :wonder:

Yeah will get a photo up later on when I get home from work tonight. Dont think it'll make much difference, it's just a small, round switch that can click to the left, centre and right.

I'm kinda hoping that it might be to change the map settings, but at the same time that will only leave concerns about the quality of the map lol. That said I dont notice any difference in how the car drives. Will drive to work with it on the left and stop on the way to switch it to the right.

Ejector seat?

^^ Nah thats normally a big red button on the dash labelled do not push.

Did the previous owner have any Audio gear?

Has it got any evidence of having been run on alternative fuel at some point?

Your suggestions got me thinking, and after further investigation its for heated seats. The burning backside gave me an incling on the way home last night! Had a look under the seat and seen the wires. Oh well thats something I will probably never use.

Kinda disapppointed it wasnt to change map settings, however that would have given me concerns about the quality of what might have been installed.

Thanks for all your replies ;)

Shame. :( Thought it might have been a James Bond style oil slick or smoke screen maybe. Oh well :smirk:

Normally the switches are on the fascia next to the Heated rear screen and ASR button, on the far left and the far right.

I guess the heated seats have been retro-fitted and it was easier to wire up a 3 way switch where it is, rather than 2 separate ones.

Yeah, was obviously easier for them to put it where it is.

Just glad it wasnt flashing neons under the car :p

Not to bad for a freebie though. You'll be glad of it come winter wile you wait for the heater to get blowing. Had them on the last Fab and miss em now.
