I think they are great value cars. I want it Jabba modded and managed to get a quote through Endsleigh Insurance:

Welcome to Briskoda

Insurance increase seems a bit steep, but I guess it depends on your age and NCB as well.

Welcome

Shop around for insurance, that sort of increase for just a remap is a joke.

Thanks for the advice, I will try Adrian Flux as well. If anyone has any suggestion on other insurers please let me know. I don't really want to pay

err 41?

No way should you be paying that sort of cash then.

Greenlight might be worth a try, along with Adrian Flux.

I think ColinD is working on something with Chris Knott too.

Sadly, i would have to advise against Liverpool Victoria due to their apparent inability to decide on a consistent company policy on mods. I will be moving from LV when my next renewal comes around.

I've been reading posts on Insurance for modified cars. My Furbie vRS has been superchipped. I got Insurance through the AA underwritten by Norwich Union (I think )

Try This...0845 6000 546 ask for Bev Stafford, nothing seems to be to much for her....Nice Lady

No, the Octy doesnt have a 1500 service/oil change. If its on fixed, then the first service is 10k. If its on variable, it could be a lot more if the car decides.

I would if it was silver. Black is a nighmare colour to keep clean if you don't have a garage. How does your dealer react when you take it in for service? Presumably they test drive it.

They service it and take my money just like any other garage! I set the boost controller to stanadard boost hough and hide it so that if the car is test driven, it will appear normal.

Luckily I've not had to make a major warranty claim. Skoda have been known to examine ECU's for remaps. That said, I've had several(yes Skodas do break down) warranty jobs done with no questions asked.

Yu are right, black is a hard colour to keep clean...but it is the best colour. Black cars are faster too

Steve, Another dumb question: is the boost controller a separate box or switch? How long does it take to reset to normal boost?

Anyone: Can cruise control be added as a dealer fitted option at time of purchase?

The boost controller is a small dial mounted on the dash. You can adjust it on the go to turn the boost from standard up to full.

Cruise can be fitted by the dealer, but also someone on here called Big K can fit it for a lot cheaper than the dealer!
