Went to tax my car today by phone came back i was not on the DVLA Motor Insurance Database (MID)

even though i paid my premiums in 1 payment in November 2009 to royal sun alliance (more than)

i just wonderd if anybody else had used this service DVLA MID

and found that they were not on it especially if you use MORE THAN or is it just me ? does this happen a lot ? have i been insured since Nov if not on MID ?

If you have a valid insurance certificate (not a covernote) then you're covered; The DVLA are notorious for the inaccuracies of their databases, much as they and the cops like to pretend otherwise.

Can still have a valid insurance certificate even if not covered.. could have cancelled by mistake / cancelled to bad payment halfway through year?

Yep. Check that the payment was processed

I'm with MoreThan and paid by card. got a letter a month later saying payment wasnt processed.

Checked balances and nothing was taken out for the policy so had to redo it.
