Shiny Front Discs

Featured Replies

I have noticed hat my front discs arn't very shinny even after driving around town and using lots of brake peddle. Could it be the pads, are they too hard, too soft

I have Zero 60 grooved and dimpled discs and Tarox Strada Pads

The discs on the wifes Blueline are always shinny

does you wife have the same driving habit as my SWMBO? ie drive up pretty fast and then stamp on the pedal quite late?

I know the discs were always pretty shiney on her Yaris, and put it down to this!

Apart from the colour, is there anything wrong with the way the brakes stop the car?

I wouldn't worry unless you've noticed a marked change in the way the car stops.

Also IIRC the Zero Sixty discs aren't that shiny to start with! You're also using what I'd class as a fast road pad in the Tarox Strada, so it might be that neither pad or disc are really getting upto proper operating temp after just a run round town.
