Help needed, turbo problems!

Featured Replies

Was coming home the other night when the turbo got hungry and decided to eat itself!! The shaft snapped!!

Now i'm looking to get a new turbo and i'm not sure of what to go for and how much it will cost.

Been doing a bit of searching and im seeing loads of different things, PD150 turbos, PD150 Hybrids, CRturbos etc. I'm just a bit baffled as to which would be the best option for me and how much it will cost.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The engine is an ASZ and it has been remapped to 170hp and 295 ft/lbs

Also if i get a PD150 turbo will it increase the power without mapping it again?

suppose depends how much power your after...if your happy with 170bhp then get the pd150...will need another remap to utilise the better turbo's extra boost....a new turbo is gona set you back £1000 ish + fitting....dont forget tho if you up the power more then the clutch will need uprating..

Yeah reasonably happy with 170 would be nice for a bit more though.

Where woulbe th best place to get one of these turbos?

Do companys like turbo dynamics do a hybrid conversion for the pd130 turbo?

Car will need a new map if fitting a hybrid. I would just stick on another standard KKK (they are not as bad as some would have you believe) IIRC Euro car parts charge about £600 for an exchange unit.

Nah not really wanting another kkk. Either a garrett from a pd130 or PD150 turbo.

Where can i get one of these?

Pretty sure i'm gonna go for a pd150 turbo. Is this the correct one?

My link

The very first one.

Also what would i need to fit it? Gaskets etc. I've heard i should replace the oil feed and return pipes, where do i get these?
