New Dump valve Forge Split R ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Anyone running a Forge DV Split R (the one that gives you option of recirc or atmo) Are they any good? are they noisy sound cool or crap? Easy to fit? Any effect on car good or bad? Like the idea of atmo noise any better ones on market?

Thinking of buying 1 soon so would be grateful for any comments.

ive had both the split r and the 007 forge valves and the 007 is better IMO, the split r was quiet and sounded rubbish and i sold it after 2 days :giggle::thumbup:

but this is only my opinion and some others might rate them :wonder:

I've had a Split-R for a few months and its been fine, not too loud but you can hear it clearly from inside and outside the car. If you have a Forge 007P and you want to be able to hear it then you need a CAI coz you won't hear it much with a standard airbox.

A lot of people don't get on with the Split-R because it has to be adjusted correctly, this is mainly because people get remaps then don't realise the spring needs to be tightened otherwise it will leak boost. There is always the option to set it up so it's fully recirculating in which case it is just the same as a 007P (but £20 more expensive :( ).

I'll try and get a short bullet cam vid of mine up sometime so you can hear what it sounds like, weathers a bit cr*p for it at the moment though.

from what ive heard the 1.8t run better wit a fully recirc due to the ecu using that air in the adaptation process thus if its not there it wont be running right

stick with fully recirc 007p all the way

I've just ordered a Forge 007 (well actually its the Awesome version) Can't wait to get it fitted. I've noticed that the original valve (Because mines been remamped) can't cope. When you partially close the throttle after its boosted, you can here turbo flutter so im guessing the diaphram has split. When i fit it i'll let ya know what its like

I've got the Forge 007p for the exact reason mentioned by Westallc. Other options mentioned can and commonly do cause boost problems regardless of adjustment as it needs to fully recirculate. Fitted CAI also and it sounds awesome

If you can get it fault code scanned it might be worth checking if the N249 is throwing up a fault or not.

Nope theres no fault codes its all clean. im not going to lie i love the sound of it but i know it will kill the turbo :giggle:

It does make it sound like a Group B rally car :)

To the original poster - heres a quick vid I did earlier (please ignore me scraping the tyre on the kerb at the end :giggle: )
