312mm conversion

Featured Replies

probably been dealt with before but cant find what im looking for

i picked up my se yesterday and one of the first things i want to do is the 312mm conversion

i have found the set on ebay for 235

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Audi-312mm-front-Brake-calipers-carriers-Discs-pads-/320527691110?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa0f06d66

are these the real deal seems pretty cheap to me

also what size wheel is the minimum they will fit under?

seem cheap tbh, but a bargin if u know what i mean. they will only just fit under your 16inch rims that are on the vrs as standard

I got my kit from that eBay seller. Came with EBC discs, EBC Ultimax pads and genuine VAG callipers and carriers in brand new condition. Delivery was prompt and reasonably priced, which you will realise when you feel the weight of the package!

yer i thought they semed cheap for everything includin pads and discs

especialy seen as theres used sets on for 300+

thats ok if they fit under standard

They defo fit under the standard wheels - hardest thing I found was finding the right colour

colour - the green looks the wrong shade for a vrs.

black and silver are boring

the red has quite caught my eye though...

saying that ive got a tin of green hammerite just waiting to be applied on some 312mm brakes, when money isnt tight...

nice find, i might purchase a set of these myself.

they do seem really cheap but seem to be all thats needed so i guess you cant really go wrong.

do you need the calipers for the conversion? a friend told me i would only need the carriers?

If they are everything you need, then thats a bargain!

I know it's a straight swap, but any idea on how long it normally takes to do?

You defo need both calipers and carriers.

The calipers on the fabia are completely different, where as on a mkiv golf, the calipers are the same and you only change the carriers.
