Im Going back to OEM rear Beam Bushe's

Featured Replies

So, The Poly Bushes on the rear beam of the Vrs Estate are as sqidgy as jelly !!! Im quite certain now that's where my creaky nosie is coming from, Pushing a Tyre lever between the Axle & the chasis & applying liberal force, You can get the beam to move considerably ... Which is not good... So after looking at the design of the Poly one's & the OE one's, Im going with OE, So much more rigidity that it is untrue & when you look at the design , it is no wonder .. I once remember fitting poly bushes to one of my Subaru's & the switched back .. Funny what you forget...

Poly & Standard Pics attached

You can see the extra thin undersize part of the poly one, This is where all the sqidgyness is.. The OE ones are a uniform size & as solid as a rock ..... Cant wait to get them in & have a firm Rear End again :D.

I would, I think that due to the size of the axle opening the poly ones have just to much rubber in there to stay rigid forever & only the steel insert for the bolt..

Cheers mate, I'll get my mate to order the bushes at the same time as my rear disks and pads and clocks

I read a post from someone that essentially said the poly bushes with the steel inserts are useless. The rubber bushes are bonded to the steel and twist where as the poly bushes rotate around the steel insert and so wear the bush away making them progressivley looser.

Well thats a surprise, after all I have read about Poly bushes and thought they were the dogs danglys, looks like you have proved that is not the case.

Well after fitting the Oem Bushes & removing the Poly ones, The car is now so much more planted, It was before but it now corners even flatter giving even more confidence / feedback...

The steel inserts had indeed come adrift from the polyurethane & having not fitted these, i did not realise that they were / are slightly voided..
