Featured Replies

has anyone done any of the supercar experiances at 3 sisters wigan or aywhere else? i drove the lambo gallardo on sat and was a bit diserpointed all round. was only there an hour including breifing and on the website it says 1 hour 30, i paid to have my laps filmed which didnt work and i thought i got to do a few laps in the cooper s too but no! the instructor was driving! i went back yesterday to watch the sunday sesh lot and im convinced they where drivin the coopers, they did say the saturday group was one of the biggest they have had, should i have drove the cooper too? did they just stick 3 of us and an instructor in a car because of the numbers? is this worth a complaint?

you paid for something that you was not happy with i would deffo send a letter of complaint and see what happens

have heard that these days are not that good as your not aloud to drive the super cars like there meant to be driven....

These kind of "Experiences" are really a waste of time and your money, You have usually just a couple of laps driving yourself so you don't have time to get used to the car as will be so unfamliar to what you normally drive. It's just a money making business prying on the kind of people who can tell their friends "I've driven a Ferrari/Lambo/Aston etc and I got photos on the wall to prove it".

Thruxton cct. do good and worthwile track experiences in my opinion but they do cost more.

The only way to satisfy yourself Trackday wise is to take your own car on the track for a whole day and for £100 to £200 it's got to be a bargain. Get out there son!!!

yeah your right, i was just settlin into the lambo, gettin used to the flappy paddle gear box and my time was up.

I did kind of a Supercar experience in Florida , cost about £300 for a few laps in a Nascar, the Yank instructor was surprised when I told him I was getting bored after 4 laps just going round and round an oval.

yes went to three sisters on ferrari 360 it was crap luckily it was a present from ex so not my waste of money wont go back only good side took my five year old nephew he thought it was fantastic well he was five

I would complain bitterly if some told me that a cooper s was in the supercar bracket, got folded double in the back seat, & flung round corners all for £300, despite getting a drive in a Lambo.

I was bought a track day experience for my birthday, O.K I only got 6 laps with an instructor in an Ariel Atom ( 360BHP ) & god did you need someone to help you control this mad car, I then got 3 fast laps as a passenger in a BMW M3 after ( very disappointing after the Atom) But I dont believe it was anywhere near that price.

It seems like it pays to Shop around.

One of the only experiences that is actually half good is the single seaters at Silverstone..

I have one booked for a few months time. Single seater so no instructor, you get something like 20 mins behind a pace car, then 20 mins free... Much better than being limited to 4 laps with an instructor..

Not conviced by these days. Would rather just do a trackday with maybe a couple of laps with an instructor.

How did you find the track? To me it's a bit small for somthing like a mambo? It's great for karting :)

Often wondered if it was worth having a blast in a Supercar on a track day but can see its not quite as it appears!

Did go to Bill Gwynne Rally School and had a brilliant laugh in an old favourite a mk2 rwd Escort! Was a few years back but didnt half get my monies worth!

PS. Been in a TVR Typhon and that was about as much of a supercar i could take! Flippin more like a four wheel R1.

Must be getting oldemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I had a "supercar" experience at elvington , Yorkshire ( where richard hammond crashed) and I stood around waiting for 1 hour to get the car and it was a impretza rally car , the track was a oval 3 "laps" oval allowed you to accelerate 90mph (just), brake 90 mph brake, same again , same again was such a pointless waste of money!

I did the ferrari experience a back in 2004 at the three sisters and was also not that impressed. At the time it was an MG ZR and you were driven round by the instructer, three up in the car not the one to one tuition i expected. The ferrari was good but again let down by the instructor who just was not interested at all. I complained through red letter days and after several letters got me no where. I would probably use another track and book it direct if i did one again. Sounds like there still the same

I did one a while back and it was a bit crap as they guy next to me kept telling to not to rev it too hard and to slow down, he wanted me to change up at 5,000rpm. In a 360 Modena. On a track.

I did a 'Euro Challenge' with Everyman Activities at Prestwold Hall - drove a DB9, 550, Gallardo, XK8 and a Caman. Only allowed 3 laps in each except the Caman in which I got 5 and as it was the last car I drove I had got to know the circuit - best car I drove and it was p1ssing down, just went straight and true through the corners at some speed and easily took the DB9 and Gallardo.

Did not think the 'experience' it was worth the full asking price but I paid with TESCO vouchers so only cost 1/4 of the list price, unfortunately they no longer take Tesco vouchers at this venue but there are other venues that do taken the vouchers so if you can tear them away from SWMBO it might be worth a punt.
