It looks cool and I'd like it, but does anyone know if it can be set up via VCDS on a pre-FL?

Yes my new FL vRS does it. Is this something exclusive to vRS's? my 56 plate didn't do this..Would look even cooler if the needles were red!

Isn't this just the electronics doing a speedo calibration?

My Superb II also does this when the ignition is switched on.

for me it was the WHOLE reason for buying the car, have a car that doesn't do a needle sweep! pah!

to be honest though as nice as it is to have, you forget about it after a couple of weeks

I think it was one of the Jap Spec Imprezas that had a dash pod that was all black. You switched it on, the needles glowed, did a sweep and then the numbers illuminated. Very cool!

In fact I think I saw it on a Litchfield Imports T25.
