155 on the guage

Featured Replies

Just had 155 on the guage, on the A2, between Dortmund and Gutersloh, at a constant 19.4 mpg (14 on the way up there). I know its not true speed but it was mighty good fun. I'm sure going to miss Germany.

Also clocked 172mph on the sat nav on a really long downhill part of the motorway coming back from the nurburgring on the A61. sat nav was reading 154 when the speedo reached 160mph. i really miss germany, and hopefully will be heading my ass right back out there next year. that was sub 5mpg though :o

only ever done that twice, and only if there were no cars at all in the way, middle lane and floor it. to dodgy else

That's not bad! We managed 12.6mpg at Spa Francorchamps in a 335d, with one of our remaps on this weekend and we thought that was good, 19.4 is pretty impressive!

Theres a 1.2 Corsa that does that past my house everyday!! :(

Not the B class Merc I was 'upgraded' to when I rented a car 2 months ago - A 1.8 litre diesel that failed miserably on low end torque and wasn't a whole lot better when I revved the balls off it. When the ABS kicked in on a dry country road after the ditchfinders couldn't find enough grip I realised why it had airbags everywhere...
