Anyone tried Kumho 712 or KH11's on a VRS? I can get some cheap for mine and wondered if anyone has any experience of them?

Just worn some out. Good value for money IMHO. Not outstanding grip, but not bad either

Quite a few people have them and seem to rate them. Not tried them yet myself.

Right well thats me decided, i'll try them, they cant be worse than the worn Dunlops i have now!

I think Kumho is a fairly decent budget brand - was looking at them myself a while back but opted for T1-S' myself - mainly cuz ColG had a new set going cheap

As Nick points out, I've had some for about 18K now, including a couple of heavy track day uses. For money I reckon they are well worth the money. Wear well good grip in the dry, but as Ross says, not to sure they grip the best in the wet, but once you are aware of that, you drive accordingly.

Recommended.

After having Avons back on the front for 2 days, I'm realising just how good the Kumhos were .... Hopefully these b*****ds will wear in a bit and give better grip after a few miles :eek:

I'll rate my Kumhos better than the Michelins that I had on the car previous. The have fantastic dry road grip, and I cannot fault them ....yet....

Good value for money tyres......but out here in the tropics, the 712s are known to be NOT good in the wet....lateral traction the wet is bad.....do beware.....cant fault its valu for $ but thats about it really....

XL load rating?? What does that mean? Are they safe to use on my VRS then? 225/45/17 is the planned size.

Have no idea what XL means but I'm sure it's explained in the Tyre Bible...check out the links page.

Fair comment but lets also remember that when it rains Singapore it is very heavy and loads of standing water around.

I also wonder how the tyre copes with the ambient temperature and then suddenly has to contend with a temperature drop on contact with all that water?

I believe it's been a rather wet week in Singapore.
