Vagcom errors - can anyone shed some light please :)

Featured Replies

Scanned my 2002 Fabia hatchback today (100bhp PD atd engine), and I got some fault codes showing.

Can someone explain what they mean in a bit more detail please, so I can get the Skoda Dealer to repair whatever is needed before the used car warrenty runs out :)

Fault one is the heater temp flap motor. Fault two means the battery voltage has dropped below 11 volts at some point.

Faulty Heater motor - the ventilation sometimes randomly pumps out hot air to the face even though I haven't changed the temperature settings.

And also its also very hard to adjust the temperature sometimes. Either very hot, or too cold etc.

So would I be right in saying I can get the Skoda Garage to replace the motor and cure this fault?

With regards to the battery voltage, I did leave the car in March/April for 2weeks whilst I went on holiday. Would this have been why the battery fault has come up? How long would this particular fault code be held in the ECU?

Yes the flap motor will need replacing to cure the heater problem. Low battery code will remain until cleared, or 50 starts where the car does at least over 30 MPH for five minutes each time. I believe later ECU software stores non pending codes until they are cleared with a code reader.

ISTR the flap can be "re-set" with vagcom somehow.

Thanks guys,

we did reset the flap to make it re-calibrate, but this weird hot air problem has been happening ever since I 've had the car, so hopefully the dealer will replace whatever's needed
