HELP ! Feature or problem

Featured Replies

Anyone with a CR vRS - can you go and sit in it and whilst idling out of gear stick your foot on the accelerator see if it just revs to 2.5k and no more even when foot is on the floor.

Report back.

Cheers.

Reason is mine won't but I've never noticed it before. I had an issue earlier today when i'd just filled it up that it would not start, would turn over but that's it. No errors on the dash. tried resetting the alarm etc just in case it was the immob. Then tried pumping the accelerator whilst off to pump fuel into the pipes.

Eventually it got going but not sure why it would not start.

now before i call the RAC back and get them to check it I'd like to see if any of you have had the issue above.

feature i think. im sure ive seen it on here before that it wil only rev to 2500 at stop. soemthing on here about racing starts and limiting to those revs (maybe on DSG?)

I had the same experience, decided one day whilst the car was ticking over to give it a healthy foot full of revs, only to find out it did not go above 2500 rpm.

I have assumed it is a safety feature and not a fault. The car goes above 2500 rpm when being driven, which is the important bit!

Same.

Saftey feature mate  stops you blowing it to bits  Civic type R's have the same thing, rev's up and stops

Mine is the same too - some of my other cars do this to to protect the engine.

Cheers - was a bit worried especially after the not starting thing.

Its been okay starting since so i think it was a lack of fuel perhaps.
