The S may not get the trip computer at all then! Do you have a pair of buttons right on the tip of the wiper stalk? If you don't, the trip computer isn't fitted.

very nippy, steering is a joy, engine is very quiet, smooth on the road, and adequate for a supermarket shop which i knew would come around sometime, ive driven 210 miles in it so far, fuel bar still pretty much full,
