Alloy refurbishment

Featured Replies

Just had my VRS alloys refurb'd by lepsons of Gillingham. Never used them before but was very impressed by the service and the result. They are immaculate. This picture was taken the following day after a run so there are a few brake dust spots on them.

I should point out that I am in no way associated with Lepsons

look good, how badly corroded were they? emoticon-0148-yes.gif

They were in a right state. Corrosion on most of the spokes and the valve area was completely covered with bubbling. There was some kerbing on them as well. Wish I had taken a picture before they were done :-)

They look 100%. How much was the refurb as it's something that's on my list to do (eventually)

£249 inc vat. Dropped the wheels off on a Saturday and collected them a week later

They have been given excellent recommendations on the Audi TT and VW-Audi Forums as well. They are significantly more expensive than some other places though - £160-£200 is the more usual rate for 4 wheels.

Yes there were cheaper places but it was convenient and these come with a year warranty.

I have heard there are places that take just one day to do the wheels. How you can strip a wheel, make any repairs, prime and top coat in a day beats me.

make sure you treat them to some decent wheel sealant then now youve spent so much on refurbing them emoticon-0148-yes.gif
