iPhone iOS 4.0 and RSAP

Featured Replies

I've just upgraded by iPhone 3GS to iOS4 and there us no support for rSAP unfortunately. Looks like I'll be getting a HTC in a couple of months time when I'm eligible for an upgrade

I'm not really surprised by that seeing as Nokia and Apple are at each others throat in court (and rSAP takes control of the phone which is WAAAY outside Steve Jobs' comfort zone)

i'm not either, it just means that either way I have to invest in £350'd worth of new equipment to get a phone to work with the bluetooth in my car. I either need a new bluetooth module or a new phone

Great
I didn't order the OEM bluetooth as I'd read in the brochure that it used rSAP so got the car without and bought a Fiscon Unit.

The dealers really need more educating, mine swore blind that the GSM III would work fine with an iPhone and I said it wouldn't. To prove a point I tried to pair the phone with the Superb in the showroom and when it failed the dealer reckoned I must have been doing it wrong... I then paired it with work's Nokia on the first attempt and he went a bit quiet...

Hi,

I didn't really have a choice with mine, I bought the car second hand. When the sales guy mentioned it had GSM III phone prep he also looked at my iphone and said 'that won't work with it though..'. I was only mildy disappointed with that however I hoped my work HTC Touch2 would be ok with it. No chance. I've read page after page on making it work and tried everything from third party r_sap apps to having a look in VCDS.

My missus' cheap PAYG Nokia however, practically begged to be connected so I ended up with a work supplied Nokia 6021 of which I swap the sim to my HTC when I need to use that. Got to admit, when you find a phone that works with it, the system is a joy to use.

All i'm saying here is that if you're going for a HTC or the like, beg to try it with the kit first.

I've just ordered a one of the older kits from ebay however my dealer said he will take a look and see what he can do. If I'm lucky enough to get it chnaged by the dealer then the other unit will be going spare should anyone want it

Yep it still doesn't work see link

On the supported Bluetooth profiles, RSAP isn't one.
