most of us know how it is having a long wait...were 13 weeks in and ive long since gone round the bend awaiting our monster...this forum, youtube yeti vids have kept me going, as well as yeti spotting on the roads...and today we bought some yeti rubber mats :D ...just need the bloody car now lol

It's just the same for me.

The dealer said the SM was billed last week (24th of june)... but, until now, no more news about.

I feel like on "old times" when the first girlfriend was late in phone calls and I spent the time hanging around or staring at the ceiling corners of the room... :giggle:

Isn't this the last production week before the holiday closure? If so you may be OK - hope so.

yes ernie....if not, watch evening news to hear of car driven thru skoda dealers window lol..as if not built that would mean another 7-8 weeks wait

Just heard from dealer our Yeti 1.2(ordered 1st April) was built this week, and will be with us by the end of July, depending on delivery time from factory, which will probably make it around 16 weeks from ordering. We shall see if it turns up!! Jessica

makes sense jessica, we ordered same day as you..1.2 as well and told build week ( this week)..but as usual nothing from dealer'...fingers crossed yours and ours keep each company on the isar highway soon

Having seen 3 delivery dates go by I got in touch with my broker to find out if the car had actually been built.

I was mortified to learn that the broker's dealer and Skoda was now longer doing business. I have waited 16 weeks for nothing! Anyone who ordered through a broker may unwittingly have the same problem. I am not going to knock the broker but nevertheless I think I could have been told of the situation earlier.

Although I was offered a new deal by the broker , I decided to go to a dealer and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could obtain a good deal. Nevertheless I still have to wait another 16 weeks. By occasionally borrowing/hiring a car I am getting by because the weather is fine for walking or using public transport but I know once we get to September life will get difficult. But there is not much I can do about it.

I have also orders a Yeti (110 4x4 Elegance) through a broker. Supposed to be here in June. Unfortunately I can get no information out of them. Who did you deal with?

Hope so, just hope the factory didn't get 'pre-holiday happy' and start throwing the cars together this week to get rid of all the orders!! Dealer has promised to let me know anything further he hears re. dates, and will be in touch for me to arrange the insurance etc. in good time, I'll put anything I hear on this site to help any other expectant Yeti owners. I was dealing with buyacar. They appear to have been let down by a 'Midlands dealership'. However I wouldn't be surprised if other brokers were using the same dealership. Anymore than that I do not know I'm afraid.

All the best.

Today my broker arranged a collection date for our Yeti 110 4x4 Elegance. It would appear that I was being a bit impatient. We ordered on the 29/3/2010 with delivery organised for 20/7/2010 that will be 16 weeks. To be fair maybe I was confusing lack of information with lack of that which comes from bulls.

Hi there, new to this so I don,t know if i'm responding correctly or not, but here goes!

Test drove Yeti 140 crd on 22 April this year. So impressed, ordered one immediately afterwards - 170 crd elegance, black pearl, panoramic sun roof, off road package, tpm, and front parking sensors.

Was quoted 8-10 weeks delivery. At five weeks, dealer rang to say that because of the sun roof supply/demand problem this period would now be extended to about 4 months. I had been following threads on here and that seemed perfectly reasonable when compared to reports from many other members. however, in week 10 the dealer called again to inform me that I will not be taking delivery until 13 December. He has told me that is build week 47, can anybody tell me when build week 1 commenced and does this seem to be the norm for delivery at the present?

I have no intention of cancelling the order but am curious as to why a quoted period of less than 3 months has now been extended to 8 months - almost a pregnancy term if you think about it!

And, as an afterthought, will the spec have changed during this period?

Regards to all,

bal

Surely to goodness this cant be right ??....16 weeks maybe, but not 32 weeks ????? I ordered mine beginning May and have still not got my build date, but I shan't be very happy at all if they come back to me with the same timeframe !!!

:wonder:

It's due to the fact that you've ordered the sunroof.

Maybe if you remove that option it will be with you MUCH quicker

Thanks for ypur input. I have had many vehicles in my time, 6 of them from new, the longest delivery time was 5 weeks, that was for a Dolomite Sprint back in the seventies.

Thought of cancelling the sun roof, but it was the one option that I really wanted, and at my age I have learnt that patience often pays off - only hope that it dosn't turn up when my time is up, although the black pearl with the seats removed would do nicely as a hearse!

My order went from a quoted 10-12 weeks to 28 weeks... So 32 for a car with sunroof is within reason I'd say. Under the circumstances of course!

I still find it unacceptable that sort of delay, especially as no other manufacturers seem to have a problem. For all the conjecture we still dont know what the problem is or why it is causing such unacceptable delays. The question will arise no doubt about those orders who were made so long ago and end up in the next year possibly, when VAT is due to go up, so the dealers better be prepared to cough up the VAT difference if a customer has to wait for that ludicrous length of time.

Perhaps I should point out that my old Merc has been been taken in part ex under the Skoda 'extended scrappage' deal and was due for road ax at the end of April.

In view of the original delivery estimate, I only taxed for 6 months rather than the usual 12. The dealer has offered to pay for the renewal at end of October, I'm hoping that he will be as philanthropic with the increase in VAT if any further delay is incurred.

This is my first foray into the Skoda marque, and I must say that the dealer (Preston Motors, Forest Gate) has kept me informed and been both helpful and apologetic throughout.

Hi all, further to my posting of July this year, am collecting the Black Pearl SM today (Tue 14 Dec) which I ordered - with panoramic roof - on 22 Apr this year. Saw the Beast in the showroom on Friday last, looks fantastic - the Gobi leather option really looks impressive against the black. Going on looks alone it has been worth the wait ! Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you all

Congratulations - I hope you will feel your patience has been rewarded.

(Hope you have many happy years before its needed for hearse duty).

Thanks Fred, collected the SM this morning, 10.9 miles on the clock, 1/4 tank of diesel on board so I juiced up & have been travelling around town all day (London, that is). OBC showing average of 38.7mpg - pretty impressive I think for the 2 litre 170, couldn't have averaged more than 20mph overall.

Impressed with the ride, comfort, response & general handling, much as I was on the test drive back in April. The only time the SM was a wee bit skittish was when travelling across a double steel manhole cover on a bend on the A12, but conditions were damp.

No problem connecting my Nokia 95 to the Bluetooth, hit first time & could not believe how quickly it accessed & loaded the phonebook. Also impressed with the Columbus satnav system & what a difference the panoramic sun roof makes - so glad I had the patience to wait for it !

Got to go, queue of nieghbours outside for a viewing ( had 2 earlier), the word has gone around!

Bye for now, good luck & God bless
