Peugeot advert for a car they arent selling?

Featured Replies

Is Peugeot desperate now? Why have an advert on TV that displays a car (the BB1) that will not be for sale, only displaying the actual car for sale briefly right at the end? I understand the whole 'innovation, concept, etc' PR hype stuff, but surely the ad should be dominated by the car they are trying to sell?

It just made me feel like they are saying 'look at this really nice little car, shame you cant have it'

Maybe Im just missing something obvious :wonder:

Maybe it's a coming soon?

Generate enough interest and they'll build it like Audi and the TT (mk1)

Possibly, it would make more sense, but the ad doesnt indicate this, it just states model not for sale. I would have thought a 'coming soon' type thing would have been a bit more of a PR plus.

Must just be me

Web Information on the model indicates a possible 2011 launch

Brand interest.

If you show someone a small family hatch, only people who are interested in small family hatches are likely to pay attention. If you can get interest in the brand, people will be more likely to reference it when they are looking to fulfil their own needs, be that for a city car, a small family hatch, an executive saloon, a two-seater coupe, a scooter or a bike.
