Featured Replies

Need new rear disc's and pads on my fabia vrs and just wanted to know what other people are useing on there's !! been quoted £189 by my local skoda dealer !!

cheers

ouch i just had my rear discs and pads replaced by a local garage for about £80

I just put off the shelf rear disks and pads on my Fabia VRS, cost me £142 including front pads supplied and fitted but they were non oem parts. I could done the job myself using OEM parts alot cheaper but tbh i couldn't be bothered so just fired it into my work

i am getting some rear discs and pads i am just going genuine parts and fitting them my self i dont think u will need groved and drilled discs and the likes on the rear imo they do just fine with the ones that were on originally

Doesn't really matter what brand you use mate...

They're all about as good as a digestive biscuit when it

comes to actually making the car stop...

Besides, you'll be replacing them again in six months

when the damn things are lipped again...

Crap design :dull:

Hello T31VRS,

No matter what you fit, outer edge of disc will rust, and pads last forever (almost) as very little rear braking takes place.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Chose is entirely yours, fitted 'MINTEX' (discs & pads) but in 2 years, pads are barely worn, and discs are rusty as as anchor, just like the ones I replaced.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I removed discs and took sander to outer edge and looked OK for about 2monthsemoticon-0140-rofl.gif now look again like rusty anchors.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

theres no point in getting expensive discs and pads cos the back does little (or no) braking. They are mostly just used fo the handbrake

You must never put better (or harder) compound of pads on the rear than the front. If you do there is a chance of locking the rear wheels and spinning around.

So either put what you have on the front or (softer) OEM pads.

I bought EBC green pads (Have Green on Front) and plain rear discs for £100ish a few months ago. I had a local garage to fit them as I don't have the special tool required.
