what make of tyre came new with the skoda mk2 ?

Featured Replies

i bought my car 2nd so i don't know what original tyres it came with.i bought a brand new mk1 and that came with continentals.

could some please tell me what came with my car please (1.2 12v 70)

thanks

Could be one of a number, I think Skoda fit whatever they can get a good deal on at the time!

My 57 plate Roomster came on Bridgestones. I replaced the front ones with Pirelli recently and find them quieter.

My '08' plate from new had Continentals fitted. However, Skoda uses most makes of tyres at differing times, depending on what is available and the cost to them at the time. So it isn't unusual to see two brand new Fabia's in the showroom with different make tyres.

my car has 2 bridgestones and 2 Pirelli . the first owner was a car hire company so not sure what they did with the tyres.

Ours came with Bridgestones - one of the first Mk 2 Fabia's.

The 2004 53 plate 12v Comfort we used to have had Firestones from the factory, while my sons 2003 03 6v has a worn Conti as the spare which looks original by the date stamp on the sidewall. Whereas a lot of the later Fabia II I've seen appear to have Bridgestones.

Mine came with bridgestones. The Mk1 I had came with Continental Eco Contacts.

From what I see in the showroom, top of the range models(not just fabia) tend to come with continentals. Most low end Fabias have bridgestone. Seen basic octavias with dunlops/firestones

I think makers fit whatever they have managed to negotiate for that particular build month.

mine came with brigestone furanza's which i can arnestly say are the worse tyres ive ever had. Soon got replaced with uniroyal rainsport 2 tyre's which are brillant.

My 06 Fabia 1.2 Sport (70bhp) came with Pirellis, my new car has Bridgestones on it.

Skoda have also used Dunlop, Goodyear, Michelin and Continental, so it could have been any of those. I'd say most likely the Pirellis are the standard fit.

Mine came with Dunlop SP Sport 01 which were ok have replaced with Continental Premium Contact 2 which are brilliant really hoping that my new one comes with them. Bridgestones are grippy but I find them very noisy.

My '58 Greenline has Dunlop SP10A all round, although when it comes to fitting new tyres I will looking around at what eco tyres there are as alternatives such as Michelin Energy.

as did the wife's 1.2 Fabia 1.2 09 plate Blueline

I'd avoid the michelin energy tyres unl;ess you don't mind the noise. I had 4 of them when i replaced the tyres on my 55 reg fabia. Grip was worse than conti premium's and a lot noisier, and they're not cheap tyres.

Low resistance tyres, by their own nature, will have less grip. that is Physics for you!

They can and will improve over time but will always be behind conventional tyres. By this nature, they will have a longer stopping distance, too!

Car makers will get round this (Somewhat) by making eco cars lighter but if you make the standard car lighter too, .......benefit lost!
