Fabia TDi power loss/stuttering

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2001 Fabia 1.9 TDi, thats done about 140,000 miles.

The last few weeks I have noticed an issue that seems to be getting worse...

When driving typically on the motorway at a steady speed the engine starts to stutter and if its running out of fuel or like I am kangarooing.

This issue seems to be getting worse and happening more often, which is obviously worrying, although I notice it only starts once the engine has warmed up, and its seems to be between 2000 - 3000 RPM most of the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it can be?

I admit the car does need a good service soon, but other than that I'd say its in good working order

Thanks

Air filter clogged

MAF Sensor

Boost leak

Give it a service and see how it goes from there..

Fuel filter clogged?

At this mileage, the VVT could be choked up with exhaust carbon deposits, which means the the turbo has to be removed and the turbo fan cleaned.
