Part No. and Price

Featured Replies

I found this in the parts sticky:

06A 145 790C - £39.96

Does anyone know if this is the right part number and price for the hose from the turbo to pancake pipe or is it the one from the pancake pipe to the intercooler (or both, and the pancake pipe too?).

I was under the car at the weekend and noticed the end of the turbo hose where it joins the pancake pipe is looking a bit ropey, the jubilee clip seems to have eaten into it quite a bit and theres a lot of dirty oil caked on it.

Also does anyone know if its a bit of a bugger to fit at the turbo end? It was covered up with a heat shield sleeve so didn't bother having a look.

Mine was a pig to do and that was from underneath (in a pit).

There is not a lot of room to get both hands in.

Is it attached with a hose clip or something else?

I found that hose pretty easy to change. The heat sheild is just held with poppers, and the new hose comes with a new heat shield.

The top of the pipe is one of the stupid hose fittings that has a large clip holding the hose to the pipe. You just push the hose in, and then the clip holds it in place. But make sure you put the clip back exactly how you found it, as alot of people **** it up putting it back on and the hose pops off under boost. Just take a photo before to remember or something. The lower fitting is just the normal hose clip affair. Try and get a nice stainless hose clip to replace it. That´s it really. You´ll probably notice alot of oil in the pipe, from the breather system. Only way to reduce that is to fit a catch can.

I have some photos at home of the hose, so I´ll whack them up if you want. It´s hard to explain the top fitting!

If you could post a pic of the top fitting Bodge that would be great. I don't have a pit at home, I just had it up on a pair of axle stands to do an oil change on Sunday but I could get under there enough to have a poke about... I think fitting would be another matter so might borrow a mates workshop with proper ramps

Hi there yes it is the correct part number for the turbo to pancake pipe, and as stated it comes with a heat shield jacket. (it does not come as a set to include intercooler pipe and pancake pipe)

It is not too difficult to fit providing you can get the car up enough to get to it

The pipe itself wasn't too bad to do, it was trying to fit the heatshield cover that was a pain.

It was probably me though :dull:

must be you buddy..

That was the easiest part. I found turning the heat jacket around on the pipe to clip the poppers was best way then once clipped just twist the heat jacket around wher it should fit. .

I saw the poppers on the heat jacket. TBH the only thing I was worried about was that there would be a hoseclip holding the pipe to the turbo as I don't think I could get a screwdriver up there to tighten a hoseclip. If the hose just pops on and clips in then thats not so bad.

The problem I had was that the heatshield goes over the end that you have to do up with the hose clip.

Trying to get the heatshield on and the poppers to join with one hand was a challenge.
