crankcase hose mod

the now short piece of pipe goin into the turbo intake side is now plugged and a pipe now runs direct from the crankcase outlet down the back of engine and vents to atmosphere under the car...is quite a simple mod...the above pic shows the pipe goin from the crankcase to a catch can at the front of engine..not neccessary tho...

chris the pipes do look good and at £40 will prob sell ok...im just saying that imo as the engine cover covers the pipes anyway theres a cost free way of doing the mod and has same effect...

Thanks for the confirmation...........do I need to touch the small bore pipe connected to the top of the EGR or do I leave it where it is?

better to do both mods and let the engine breathe contamination free air only...simply remove the rubber pipe from top of the egr and block the pipe with a small bolt/piece of wood dowel etc...job done.

Oh right ok, as simple as that eh, does this not have any adverse effect on the vacuum system?

non at all..simply when the vacuum activates it sucks on the blockage in the pipe instead of raising the plunger in the egr valve.

Excellent.many thanks, I'll be doing this very soon then - need to remove and clean the EGR as well while I'm at it

i wouldnt bother tbh....aint gona function anymore so not much gain in cleaning it...your choice tho...;)

Thought it might improve air flow through it if I clean it

as i say your call but imo wudnt hinder the turbo achieving required boost...

considering what goes through the egr, it might not be a bad idea to check it over:
