LUCKILY the cable arrived today.
I Performed the reset (using MSM) in both of my fellys the 97 and 01
After a zillion crashes I got it to work and I performed everything according to the instructions.
Idle speed WAS NOT AFFECTED but dear lord the car has way better throttle response now.
Sadly VCDS did not like me (and my com ports) so I skipped the adaptation part ( I mean don't they self adapt nevertheless ?)
I do NOT know if the VCDS adaptation would make the idle rpm increase but I doubt it.
And knowing that everything in there is squeaking clean I think that I could let the car self adapt.

Oh, I forgot. Look in Simos 2P file under Simos 2P Fuel Injection & Ignition System, pages 24-17 to 24-28. Proceed accordingly. If you need VAG-COM release 409 let me know.
